Self Employed MortgageIf you are self-employed and you have more than two or three years worth of accounts you should be able to apply for a standard mortgage. However, if you don't and you want to buy a home you might find mortgage lenders suspicious if you cannot prove your earnings via pay slips or accounts. A self-certification self employed mortgage is a mortgage offered on the basis of what your income is, but does not rely on providing documentary evidence. Whereas standard mortgages typically offer a 95% loan to value, self-certification self employed mortgages almost always require a higher deposit, a loan-to value of 85% could be offered.
